Writing has always played a very important role in my life, both professionally and recreationally. When I was a little kid dreaming of what I would be when I grew up, there were only ever three answers: marine biologist, author, or mom. Now, as an adult, the passion to write has not faded. In fact, there is an entire Google Drive account dedicated to that writing. 

Writing is the foundation of civilization. Historically, the development of written language has allowed for growth. We can track the rise and fall of empires through the records that they leave behind. Stories of humanity and the lack of have inspired poets and conquerors over and over again. That importance in writing has stayed true for me at least. I have found that the ability to create worlds and evoke emotion through writing is nothing short of magical, even in a professional sense. The essence of communication is found in writing.
